a simple message

He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
As adults we tend to make things more difficult than they ought to be. We get scared to death when we have to share the gospel message , who Jesus is and what he has done. We tell ourselves I can't speak to people, I don’t' have an amazing testimony. As a church we put on BIG showy productions in order to share the gospel but that isn't what’s needed. The message is simple and God can use anyone at anytime!
This past weekend our church put a float in the Annual Beaumont Daze Parade. We do that so that people can see that we are in the community and that we are followers of Christ. It's not a bad thing; in fact it’s a good thing, and its fun.
While we were waiting on the float, ready to start the parade I saw one of Taneisha's little friends and her mother walking by. I waved a friendly hello and offered the little girl some candy. The mother is from Kazakhstan she has only been here for a year and speaks broken English. This is their first time experiencing a parade. They are offered a ride on the float for the parade and are delighted.
The following day our church held our service outside in the public park, again an annual event that we do for Beaumont Daze. Once again the woman shows up with her daughter. They came after the church service but they sat with Jayde and shared some french fries and unbeknownst to me, while sharing food ,Jayde shared with this woman what it was we were doing. Why we have the church and her faith.
I went over to talk to the woman and as she started to talk she placed her hand over her chest and in her broken English said "your daughter Jayde tell me all about this church, and God and family. She explain it all in a way I understand. It is so good"
It brought tears to my eyes. We went to all of this work to share the message of the gospel. We spent hours of time and money building and planning and here God used one little special needs girl, with simple language skills to speak to a woman with simple English, over a tray of french fries and ketchup.
How like God! That’s why His word says” let the children come unto me! “It is with this simple faith that we enter into the kingdom of God. It isn't with all the hoopla, pomp and circumstance.
It’s with a few loaves and fishes or in this case a small order of fries, a small girl, with simple skills and a simple faith! It's simply GOD
